Air India Opens Its First Flagship Maharaja Lounge at Delhi Airport

Air India has opened The Maharaja Lounge, its first flagship lounge at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. The 16000 sq. ft. space sits in Terminal 3’s international pier and introduces a new level of premium comfort for travellers. Moreover, it marks a major step in the airline’s push to elevate its service standards.

The lounge reflects Air India’s refreshed identity. It feels modern and polished, yet it also carries strong cultural influences. As a result, the space blends Indian warmth with contemporary style. Starting 16 February 2026, the lounge will welcome Business and First Class passengers, Maharaja Club Gold and Platinum members and eligible Star Alliance travellers.

A Blend of Culture and Contemporary Style

The lounge was created by Hirsch Bedner Associates. They used refined materials, soft lighting and curated artwork to craft an elegant space. In addition, the design celebrates India’s artistic heritage and keeps the environment calm and inviting. Therefore, travellers can relax with ease before their flights.

The lounge includes several zones. Each zone serves a different purpose, and together they make the space flexible, organised and easy to navigate.
